NEW TLC ASA

Suggestion

It would be very exciting if there was a new TLC for some dinosaurs that are forgotten or have no function.

Now with the arrival of ASA would be the perfect time for this.

Dinos that need some TLC would be:

- Araneo;

- Pulmonoscorpius;

- Purlovia;

- Carbonemis;

- Chalicotherium;

- Diplodocus;

- Dunkleosteus;

These are interesting dinosaurs with potential for a role in the game. Here are some ideas (most ideas are from the Krakens Better Dinos mod) for each of them:

-Araneo:

All spiders climb walls, why not the ASA ones? The new ability would be the same as megalania, climbing any surface.

A really useful ability would be for spiders to be able to trap creatures in their webs. Tapping with the right mouse button would be the same thing as now, it shoots the web and slows down. The new ability would be that when holding the right button, he would carry a ball of web that, if hit, would trap small and medium-sized creatures, including survivors.

- Pulmonoscorpius

Imagine a mini Karkinos with knockout venom. For scorpions there are countless ideas I've seen in the community, but this one would be really good. Pulmonoscorpius's claws would function similarly to Karkinos's, each being capable of carrying a small creature or human.

As for the knockout idea, the claw and tail attacks would have to be separate and only the tail attack would generate torpor.

- Carbonemis

To make Carbonemys more useful in the game, the first thing to do is make it immune to Electrophorus and Cnidaria shock.

Make its a Bio Toxin farmer.

And adding an HP regeneration buff in area, it wouldn't be a healing, but an HP regeneration.

- Chalicotherium

Forgotten and abandoned, the chalico has a lot of potential, it just needs a few adjustments.

The first change is to add a variation to his ammunition, in addition to stones, he could shoot feces like savages do. The feces would apply damage, slow and stamina debuff. The thrown rocks would ignore armor and damage stone and metal structures. And to top it off, add a tower mode like Velona and Parasaur.

- Diplodocus

The most useless of all, not even prime meat he drops. As the initial premise of this dinosaur was to be a bus, but it failed miserably, the idea is to change its function. Being a sauropod that does no damage and is fast is interesting, but to make it useful in the game today, we need to modify and add a few things.

  • He needs some sort of defense besides his speed. A stun applied with the tail whip would be excellent;
  • A weight loader function. To achieve this, it would have reduced the weight of several resources and reduced the weight of all structures, saddles, weapons and armor in the game;
  • And obviously he can collect some things like berries, fibers, wood and thatch;

- Dunkleosteus

For Dunk, an interesting ability would be like Rhino's. When swimming it gains speed, reaching a certain limit and when colliding with a creature it would cause damage, stun and apply torpor. This skill's daze and damage would increase with Dunk's health. This ability would also cause damage to stone and metal structures and greatly reduced damage to Tek structures.

There are several other creatures that need a function or improvements, such as: Megaloceros, Oviraptor, Plesiosaur, Purlovia, Lymantria, Phiomia, Pachyrinhosaurus, Pachycephalosaurus, Onyc, Mosasaurus, Bronto.

With the arrival of ASA I am hopeful about news and changes.

I think your choices for TLC are not good, no offense.

Creatures that need TLC are

  1. Bronto - one of the biggest with most wonky outdated animations ever. It could become one of the best dinos to TLC to become walking fortress and worth combatant against bigger dinos. And newbies first experience to see them wandering around.
  2. Megalodon - yeah its simply ugly af and outdated anims. Still doubt anyone will use them after TLC ( they should be able to leap onto beach and attack then crawl back again to water )
  3. Paracer - another common dino thats requires model/animation love.
  4. Pteranodon - most used and common dino. It looks great but could use some more QoL. Diving perhaps like snow owl?
  5. Anky/Doe = just make harvesting more fun, animation qol
  6. Mosa - should be underwater giga
  7. Quetzal - lost and forgotten king of skies
  8. Carno - simply freakin ugly, if he only looked better sure he could be used more often between early-mid

I actually have another TLC idea for the Electrophorus: Make it an "acuatic mobile electrical generator", perhaps with a smaller radius that can be increased with the meele stat.

The "generator mode" would gradually empty the eel's food statistics to function, so you would have to leave food in its inventory to keep it running (they would be able to consume the biotoxin to recover more food).
You would also have the option to recharge Aberration's batteries 😆

I love your proposals and I mostly agree. So I'm going to complement your ideas

-ARANEO I agree with everything, I would add the mobility of bloodsalker, which is a producer of silk and organic polymer with its poison to create acid bombs and so that it is shot would have its domestication like that of the troodon that wraps its nets around domesticated creatures so that it consumes them and thus domesticates it

-PULMONOSCORPIUS I agree with everything, but I think an increase in size to make it more useful, it would also give him the ability of natural armor, with a special mount give him the ability to shoot a poison ball like the basilisk and also be able to collect his poison and u serious domestication with extraordinary kible

-CARBONEMIS I love your idea but I would add the ability to hide in its shell and, as if it were a turtle from Mario Bros, slide like a wrecking ball with legs like the aberration rollrat and you can push with other dinos, c4 or a mount with rockets, and an increase in damage to its bite and its taming would be like the otter dragging cnidarias to be able to domesticate it

-CHALICOTHERIUM As far as I know, Chalicoterium does not shoot feces, it shoots mud or snow. Apart from what you mentioned, I would add the ability to throw all types of grenades and also the ability to launch catapult ammunition, including jars of tar, and to be able to manufacture the ammunition with its mount.

-DIPLODOCUS Complementing what you say, I would confer it on an assault sauropod. It will not be as strong nor will it have as many health points as its older brothers, but its fast whip attack with a lot of area and decent damage will make it a mount to fear.

-DUNKLEUSTEUS I would change it for triceraptos charging its attack and that you can choose between an attack of lethargy or pure damage and it would make it an excellent collector of black pearls and chitin instead of oil

Keeping real, I think Dinos have had the bare minimum changes (mostly resurfacing the outer layer detailing to take advantage of nanite which makes Normal/Specular maps practically redundant ) to be able to get the game out the door, which is understandable really. So, the wonky animations in particular as well as design of many creatures kind of look strangely at odds with the environment.

Dinos are the centrepiece of the game really. As such, if they really want the game to look polished and future-proof visually, they really need to TLC pretty much all the creatures in due course. All the sea creatures are long overdue for TLC as well as the largest eye catching Herbivores whose models, animations and abilities have looked very poorly for far too long.

I heard some complaints on streams around dino counts, but personally I would rather see a better spawn point distribution and use memory overhead for richer and more varied animation and behaviour work (even seen in the later modded creatures) to liven up them up.

I cited some examples of dinosaurs that need urgent TLC, but there are many other dinosaurs that need it. In my opinion, to be honest, the more creatures that get TLC, the better. This would revamp the gaming experience and make ASA much better.

It would be cool to continue with the dino TLC ideas, like you are doing. Perhaps this will encourage WildCard to listen to the community. The more ideas the better!

Keep posting your TLC ideas for the dinos.

I totally agree, about two-thirds of The iIsland's dinos need a visual and/or mechanical improvement 😔

I don't have many ideas, but especially for the Carno I would like 2 new abilities:
- A charging mechanic similar to the rhino or ceratosaurus.
- A special roar unlocked when near an ally Yuty; it would boost movement speed, stamina regeneration, and prevent crowd control like the net projectile.

These didn't make it onto OP's list but, the idea of Carno and Megalodon TLC - if even a slight model update and tweaks to their abilities.
EDIT: Basically every other underwater creature needs TLC too! I think the game would also benefit from more mid-size ocean dinos (Kronosaurus anyone?!) but that's a topic for another day.

i agree they did a great jop to graphics and the entire feeling of playing ark but the dino's got unfair treatment so i write this to get them some attention,ofcourse its not possible to renew an entire creature for this but adding a new ability is not too much i assume .

my first creature to this list is Procoptodon now sitting as decoration but will shine with this

 628989560_dropkick.jpg.00821638077c8c2abb0b8d8b2c4e83b6.jpg

all i want is having an attack while jumping , like drop kick or divebomb with addition spice by dismounting player or embolize the flyer mid air, i am sure only that will make the kangaroo have future in the meta.

thats all i have for now in the end its depends on ark player and fans so i hope this gets some light, thats all see yaa people later

I totally agree!! We have to try to get as much attention as possible, so that the ARK community shows WildCard what we want in the game. If it works, everyone wins, us with the improved dinosaurs and WildCard with the increased sales.

what do you think about a tlc for trex? now it's just a big dinosaur that can bite and roar (why does it roar? it's not a lion or a tiger). I suggest modifying it, 1 when looking backwards the trex can strike with its tail in a vertical movement briefly stunning the target, 2 it can hold animals the size of a carnotaur or smaller between its teeth to move it or slam it to the ground violently , 3 its imposing presence gives trust and security to the survivors and herbivorous and carnivorous creatures smaller than the rex by increasing the resistance you have damage by 10% and halving the possible drops in statistics due to enemy creatures (I imagine if I had a rex as an ally by my side I would definitely feel safer and more protected or not?) . the graphic model also needs an update now it's really ugly to look at for an archeology and biology enthusiast like me

tlc for brontosaurus. obviously a graphic update, then 1 the harvesting of wood has improved as its weight capacity must be increased it makes no sense that I can only move a few thousand kg it is one of the heaviest animals that have ever existed on dry land, 2 the tail blow due to its size it should apply torpor like club blows do but for larger dinosaurs and also reduce the target's damage by 5% this reduction accumulates with each blow and affects creatures the size of an allosaurus or smaller, while for larger creatures its effect is halved, 3 should have a function that allows it to quickly turn 160 degrees to be able to hit better with its tail perhaps by briefly standing up on its hind legs? 4 its enormous mass ensures reduced thermal insulation against the cold (its enormous body would certainly emit some heat), 5 the running of the brotosaurus should consume less vigor
